Amy Chaumeton, MD, FAMIA, is the Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Legacy Health, a six-hospital health system in Oregon and Washington. She leads various initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and sustainability across the system, such as overseeing the transfer center and physician advisors, chairing the data governance committee, and serving as the medical director for the clinically integrated supply chain and environmental stewardship. She also spearheads the inpatient throughput initiative, which aims to reduce length of stay by applying lean principles. Previously Dr. Chaumeton served as chief medical officer at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, a level 1 trauma and burn center. She co-founded the Department of Informatics at Legacy and was the chief medical informatics officer for 11 years, leading the successful implementation and evaluation of Epic and achieving HiMSS EMR Adoption Model Stage 7 for all hospitals and clinics. She has been a Stage 7 evaluator for other health systems, including Stanford Children’s, Providence Everett, Cleveland Clinic, Sutter Health, and Sheng Jing Hospital in China.
